DESCRIPTION
Erythropoietin or EPO is one of the latest synthetic Peptide that is used by athletes so they can play better in their respective sports. EPO is basically a protein hormone from your kidney and liver and it is supposed to bind with your bone marrow receptors after being released into your bloodstream. This can stimulate the production of erythrocytes or red blood cells. Due to this, it is also used to treat anemia caused by chronic kidney failure. And since it hastens the production of red blood cells, it can also increase the way oxygen is circulated within your system, which is beneficial for the athletes who are often involved in strenuous physical activities.
Athletes in endurance events, including cyclists, skiers and marathon runners, have long known they can improve their performance by increasing the supply of oxygen in their blood and therefore in their muscles. Athletes who useEPO are essentially endurance runners and high level cyclists, but some weightlifters begin to use it.
The doses used are usually at least 20 IU per kg body weight during a period that not exceeds 6 weeks. The effects usually appear after 2 week cycle.
